From 2017

When I started out to write on the internet, I was looking for a social media platform that would be easy to manage. First choice would be Facebook or Instagram. But for me those two weren't interesting. After looking out for a long time, I found out a platform called Medium. I found that I could write anything -poetry or articles. Most of the posts I make are for practicing writing.

I started writing on Medium from May 2017.  I did not write regularly though. When I started out, I wanted to write articles. I had no interest in writing poetry. I had read poetry in my language classes in school and college. I thought that they are wonderful. I never gave a try to write poems. I always had a thought, it is not for me. It is a talent people have and they write, which is true. When I read poems on Medium, they inspired me to write. I thought why not give it a try. I can always write for myself, express that I want to convey. I write when I am happy and when I am sad. I write response to prompts on Medium. Its easier for me to write poems with fewer lines. It keeps my interest in writing. I find it difficult to concentrate to write longer ones. I have tried writing short stories, never made it beyond two-three. In month of April which is National Poetry Writing Month, I tried writing poetry everyday and wrote for 21 day out of 30. I liked to write something everyday like short pieces. Practising something would make one perfect. Hence, I had decided to write atleast few words once in a while if not everyday.

For the last three years I have not been publishing regularly on Medium.  The below are some of the poem and article that I had written in 2017.
