Glass house, Davanagere

The city Davanagere also known as benne nagari is famous among food lovers for its lip-smacking Benne Dosa. The Dosa is served with dollop of butter and spicy chutney as I remember. When I google for tourist places in Davanagere I came across the Glass House. The Glass house is said to be India's largest glass house and is located near Kunduvada in Davanagere district.

The glass house has been modelled similar to the one in Lalbagh in Bengaluru. It was inaugurated in year 2018 and built at a cost of Rs 30 crore. It is about 108 meters long, 68 meters wide and 18 meters in height.

The Glass House is built using solid toughened glass with steel girders to support it. The sophisticated design of the glass house controls the heat of the sun and to provide cooling effect from inside.

Surrounding the glass house, there is a botanical garden that has exotic plants species from countries such as Japan, America, Spain, Philippines, and Thailand. There isa  musical fountain too.
